Perrin and Rowe Internals / Handle Removal

In this example we explain how to replace valves of a leaking Perrin and Rowe tap. In most cases this has a cross handle or a lever with ceramic insert. If they have an 8-sided cap and no visible screw then you can remove the handle as below.

Step 1

If we want to remove the handle of a Perrin and Rowe tap with a cross handle in this case, you have to do this via the octagonal cap.

Step 2

It is useful to unscrew the hood by hand and use a grip mat, so your hand does not slide through. CAUTION DO NOT PUT WATER PUMP PLIERS ON IT.
