Repair a leaking Newform X-Trend 2400 with internals 14720 and rings 15608 / 16128

In this example we explain how to replace the internals of a leaking Newform X-Trend 2400. In this example we use the parts NewForm Ceramic internals Moony / X-trend 14720 , NewForm Sealing set spout X-trend 2400 Article number 15608 and NewForm sliding ring spout x-trend N 16128 .

Step 1

This is the starting situation, we are experiencing a dripping problem with our NewForm X-Trend 2400 and want to replace the internals and the spout rings. Besides dripping, it also leaks under the lever.

Step 2

First, you need to remove the handle. To do this, remove the cover at the back and then use a 2.5mm Allen key to unscrew the handle.

Step 3

This one might be a bit stuck but should come loose from the internals, it is attached to the plastic rod that comes out of the 14720.

Step 4

Now you need to loosen the retaining nut to further disassemble the faucet. It has slots or holes that fit a special wrench. Because you don't know in advance which version you'll encounter, we often use needle-nose pliers to loosen the nut. You can then attach a pliers to this nut, as shown in the photo. The nut loosens counterclockwise.

Step 5

Once it's spinning, loosen it the rest by hand.

Step 6

Now we can remove the internals and replace them if necessary. In this example, we will first continue with the rings for the spout.

Step 7

We can now lift the spout upwards, revealing the rings we need to replace.

Step 8

Use a thin screwdriver to remove the rubber rings from the spout. You can also carefully cut them with a sharp hobby knife. We also remove the bottom hard plastic ring, the sliding ring.

Step 9

Now that all the rings are off, we thoroughly clean the area where the new rings will go.

Step 10

We now first place the new sliding ring and then the new rubbers for the outlet. The rings have a hollow side, you place these towards each other! You can now replace the spout and insert the top slide ring from above.

Step 11

Now you can install the new internals. Make sure that the two tabs at the bottom of the internals fit into the holes in the tap.

Step 12

We now put the retaining nut back

Step 13

Now put the handle back in place and the job is done, your faucet will no longer leak!
