How do I replace a Vola VR277K movement?

In this example, we explain how to replace the internals of a leaking Vola faucet, in this case the KV1. We'll use the VR277K in this example. You have a single-lever Vola faucet. If it drips or leaks at the handle, the internals need to be replaced.

Step 1

To remove the controls, we first need to remove the handle from the KV1. This is done with the included key (VR22).

Step 2

Now the grip cover can be removed, it is clamped and must be slid off.

Step 3

Once the grip cover is removed, the nylon cover can be removed. It is split at the bottom and can be pulled apart slightly so that it can be removed. If it breaks, this can also be ordered separately (VR275).

Step 4

Now that the nylon cover is off, the retaining ring is visible. This holds the internals in place (VR276).

Step 5

You can loosen the retaining ring with the VR269 wrench (included with the VR277K). Place the wrench over the internal mechanism in the hexagonal part of the retaining ring and then turn the retaining ring counterclockwise to loosen it.

Step 6

Once the retaining ring is removed, the actual inner workings become visible.

Step 7

Then you can pull out the internals.

Step 8

Now that everything is out, we are ready to install the new interior.

Step 9

When placing the internals, pay close attention to the position of the rubbers and the two tabs.

Step 10

Now that the new internals are in place, you can reassemble all the parts in reverse order.

Step 11

Now that everything is back in place, the job is done and your faucet will no longer leak!
