Grohe Kardoes ceramic 46 mm silkmove replacement

In this example, we explain how to replace the 46mm cartridge in a leaking Grohe Eurodisc kitchen faucet (33770000). We'll use the Grohe 46mm cartridge parts, using a standard Phillips screwdriver and a 3mm Allen key.

Step 1

This is the initial situation, we are experiencing a dripping Grohe tap and have found out that we need to replace the Grohe 46mm cartridge.

Step 2

First you need to remove the grip, you do this by removing the gray cap.

Step 3

You can then use a 3mm Allen key to loosen the handle.

Step 4

Now that the handle is off, the cover needs to come off. The way it's secured varies by faucet model, but in this case, it's held in place by a rubber seal. You can remove it by turning it one turn with your hand.

Step 5

Once the cover is removed, the Grohe 46mm cartridge becomes visible. This is secured to the top of the faucet with a metal plate and two Phillips screws (these are also supplied in two lengths).

Step 6

Now we can remove the Grohe 46mm cartridge by unscrewing the 2 screws

Step 7

Now that the screws are loose, the Grohe 46mm cartridge can be removed from the tap.

Step 8

Before installing the new Grohe 46mm cartridge, we thoroughly clean the seat it will sit on. We usually use GrohClean for this.

Step 9

Now we can install the new Grohe 46mm cartridge. Pay close attention to the rings at the bottom, which fit exactly into the recesses on the seat.

Step 10

Now we can secure the Grohe 46mm cartridge. It is important that you tighten the screws Tighten alternately . So not all the way to the left first and then the right, otherwise it will get too tight and that's bad for the internals. A tight fit is a tight fit.

Step 11

After tightening it alternately, the Grohe 46mm cartridge is in place, once again, DO NOT TIGHTEN

Step 12

Now the cover can be put back on the tap.

Step 13

Now the cover can be put back on the tap.
