If the Grohe tap is leaking, replace the 35mm cartridge.

In this example we explain how to replace the 35mm cartridge of a leaking Grohe tap.

Step 1

This is the initial situation: we're experiencing a dripping Grohe faucet and have determined that we need to replace Grohe Silkmove Cartridge 35mm for various single-lever faucets. Besides dripping, it's also leaking from under the handle.

Step 2

First you need to remove the grip, you do this by removing the gray cap.

Step 3

You can then use a 3mm Allen key to loosen the handle.

Step 4

Now that the handle is off, the cover needs to come off. The way it's secured varies by faucet model, but in this case, it's secured with a rubber seal, so you can slide it upwards.

Step 5

Once the cover is removed, a large stainless steel nut becomes visible. Because this is slightly recessed in the faucet, it's quite difficult to loosen with a pipe wrench or pipe wrench. We therefore use a Grohe 34-32 socket wrench for this.

Step 6

Now we can remove the Grohe Silkmove Cartridge 35mm for various single-lever taps.

Step 7

After cleaning the shaft from which the internals emerged, we installed the new Grohe Silkmove Cartridge 35mm for various single-lever faucets. It's now blue for Grohe brand recognition; it's exactly the same (sometimes asked).

Step 8

Now that the new Grohe Silkmove Cartridge 35mm for various single-lever faucets is in place, we can tighten the nut again. Be careful not to overtighten.

Step 9

The stainless steel ring will be properly back in place

Step 10

Now we put the hood back on.

Step 11

Finally, the handle can be put back on the tap and the job is done!
